How this calculator works
This calculator computes your income tax for FY 2025-26 (Tax Year 2025-26, filed in 2026) under both the old and new tax regime. Here's what it applies automatically:
Standard deduction of ₹75,000 (salaried), Section 87A rebate up to ₹60,000 (income ≤ ₹12L), new slab rates (0-30%), plus employer NPS and additional NPS (131(1B)) if entered.
Standard deduction ₹50,000 (salaried), HRA exemption (least of 3), Section 123 (80C) up to ₹1.5L, Section 124 (80D), home loan interest Section 74, Section 87A rebate up to ₹12,500 (income ≤ ₹5L).
